Description
Asbestos Awareness – Protecting Yourself and Others
Asbestos is one of the most hazardous building materials ever used, responsible for thousands of illnesses and fatalities each year due to exposure. Although its use in construction was widespread, it was only banned in the UK in 2000. This course is essential for anyone who may come into contact with asbestos, whether directly or indirectly, and provides the critical knowledge needed to stay safe.
The course covers the risks associated with working with asbestos, how to recognise asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), and where these materials were commonly used. It also provides practical steps to minimise exposure and discusses the relevant legislation that governs asbestos handling and safety.
Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR), all employers are required to provide adequate training to employees who may be exposed to asbestos, including maintenance workers, builders, electricians, plumbers, and others in related trades. This course will help ensure compliance with these regulations and safeguard the health and safety of workers.
Each module includes multiple-choice questions that must be answered correctly to pass the course. Candidates are given three attempts and can review their answers before final submission.
