Asbestos Plans of Work are essential in the removal of Asbestos under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.  A method statement is a document that details the way in which a work task is to be carried out.  An Asbestos Plans of Work should identify the hazards involved and should include a detailed guide on how to do the job in a safe manner.  The method statement must also include the control measures which have been introduced to ensure the safety of anyone who is affected by the tasks involved.

A method statement is always site specific and is generally agreed between the Client and the Principal Contractor or a principal contractor and another contractor.  An Asbestos Plans of Work must be written by a competent person who is familiar with the work to be carried out.
