    Managing Director

    I joined Northern Safety Ltd in April 2014 following a successful management career in varying sectors, including public services, manufacturing and construction. I am responsible for the day to day management of the company, including supporting the consultancy and training functions of the business. I have experience of supporting the HSE in accident investigations in my previous role as a Detective Inspector for Cleveland Police.  I spent 5 years as a HSE Director for a large manufacturing firm involved in deconstruction and construction work, involved in on and off shore work. I offer a pragmatic approach to supporting companies and individuals achieve best practice, not only supporting occupational health and safety but offering full business support including the achievements of recognised standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.  I am a Chartered member of IOSH, an ISO lead auditor and competent workplace noise assessor.

    Operations Director

    Joined the business April 2019 as Operations Director to support Paul as Managing Director to introduce 3rd party registrations including ISOs 9001, 14001 and 45001 to consultancy services to compliment existing H&S advice, training, instruction, auditing, inspections and documentation conducted. Manage staff on a day to day basis to meet both the customers and Northern Safety Limteds’ needs and expectations. Over 25 years experience and competence in this, working in a number of industries and sectors including rail, security and access control, fire, landscaping, forestry, fencing, highways sector schemes, waste and chemicals, manufacturing, training and apprenticeships, recruitment and integrating systems to meet ISOs and 3rd party registrations such as FORS, Achilles FPAL/UDVB / CAC / Link-up, Avetta, CHAS, Safecontractor, Constructionline, Altius, NSI, SSAIB, BAFE. Mission is to work with customers, providing best solutions for them, providing advice, training, documentation and support to enable customers to have a reliance on records to move the business forward, to minimise business risk, reduce duplication, assist staff development, to manage the business effectively and efficiently, prevent accident, prosecution and incidents and anticipate and react to change and challenges. Underpinning these management systems to recognised 3rd party independent registrations and accreditations to provide confidence to our customers’ customers whilst complying in all respects.

    Training Manager

    I joined Northern Safety as a full time Health and Safety Trainer/Consultant in October 2016 after working for the company as a contractor through my own training company. I was promoted to Training Manager in 2019, managing the training department and a group of sub-contractor trainers.  I am Nebosh qualified and a technical member of IOSH with 10+ years experience as a trainer/adviser within the engineering construction industry. As part of my role, I deal with existing and new clients offering advice and assistance with their training requirements.  Using my extensive industry knowledge I can tailor training to our clients needs and write bespoke training courses, when required, from operative to management level.

    Co-Ordinator

    I joined Northern Safety in August 2021 as a Co-Ordinator. My role involves taking enquiries, liaising with trainers to book and schedule courses, greeting delegates on arrival to the centre and the entering of relevant information on various databases as well as other duties within the business as and when required.

    Lindsey Duggan

    Bookkeeper & Administrator

    I joined Northern Safety in 2022 as Bookkeeper & Administrator. I am responsible for all financial transactions across the business including customer invoicing, supplier payments and bank reconciliation. I am part CIMA qualified, with an undergraduate degree in Psychology with Business management and have over 15 years’ experience within similar roles. I provide support to the directors with budgetary control, forecasting, analysis, financial modelling and implementation of systems and controls. I also work closely across all departments providing administration support where required.
