SAFETY IN OXYGEN, FUEL GAS & HOT CUTTING ACTIVITIES

Who Should Attend?

The course is designed for persons who carry out hot cutting activities using a combination of oxygen and
fuel gases (propane and acetylene) and require instruction and certification for their safe use and  peration.

Course Aims and Objectives

To instruct and train course members in the safe use, handling and storage of oxygen and fuel gases, also safety in hot cutting activities.

Content

· Legislation and Approved Codes of Practice
· Safe working practices and operating procedures
· Identification of hazards and risk assessment
· Oxygen and fuel gas equipment
· Hazards associated with hot cutting activities
· Prevention of fires, gas leaks and explosions
· Misuse of oxygen
· Preventing backfires and flashbacks
· Safe storage of gas bottles
· PPE and hygiene procedures
· Safety inspections and maintenance requirements

CITB Grant Aid

There is ½ day CITB grant aid available for this course.

Maximum Number of Candidates

The maximum number of candidates for this course is 12.

Venue

This course can be carried out at our training centre in Stockton or at a venue of your choice
providing all necessary facilities and equipment are available.

Equipment required (when carrying out training on site)

Classroom area with electricity supply and enough tables and chairs to seat all candidates comfortably and allow our Instructor to set up his training equipment.
