Who Should Attend?

Candidate who are competent in using the demolition adapted 360 excavator.

Accreditation

On successful completion the candidates will receive a CPCS red trained operator card.

Content

• CPCS theory test which is carried out on a one to one basis with the CPCS tester. This is
recorded.
• CPCS practical test which can only be carried out once the theory test is passed. This includes
the candidates showing the tester that they can:
o Complete all manufacturers pre start and running checks and prepare the machine for
travel
o Travel to the work area and travel up and down the slope, pass through a restriction and
travel over rough terrain
o Prepare and set the machine for the relevant work
o Change the attachment to a different type
o From a stockpile for different materials, sort, segregate and form stock piles of similar
materials
o Load sorted materials into a vehicle
o Demolish a structure
o Tidy up and make safe the working area
o Park the machine and carry out shut-down and securing procedures

Maximum Numbers

A maximum number of 2 people can be tested at one time.

Venue

The test can be carried on your site, providing the following equipment is available:
• Demolition adapted 360 Excavator fitted with the relevant attachment with the operators’ manual.
• Ground clear of hazards which must include, rough terrain, slope or slopes, stockpile of mixed
material for sorting purposes, structure for demolishing and area for attachment changing activity
• Load carrying vehicle for material
• A replacement attachment
• Items to create restrictions for manoeuvring
• Method statement applicable to the demolishing process
