Who Should Attend?

Those who are nominated persons or who provide support to qualified First Aiders.

Course Aims and Objectives

This course is ideal for workplaces that present few health and safety risks and where a nominated person is required to take charge in the event of illness or accident. Fully qualified First Aiders in larger organisations can also benefit from additional support from Appointed Persons. This is especially relevant where the workplace is diverse and consists of many hazards that present injury risks to workers.

  • Priorities of First Aid
  • Resuscitation
  • Blood loss
  • Treatment of unconscious casualty
  • Treatment of shock
  • Treatment of heart attack
  • General discussion on common workplace injuries

Training Method

Classroom based by continuous assessment by the trainer; and by a practical skills test. Successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for three years.

Maximum Number of Candidates

The maximum number of candidates for this course is 12.

CITB Grant Aid

Training grant may be available to be claimed for CITB "in-scope" companies.
