Who Should Attend?
The course is designed for persons who undertake work with chainsaws (ground work only) and require instruction and certification for their safe use and operation.
Course Aims and Objectives
To provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to correctly and safely operate chainsaws on site and to ensure that they are aware of the associated hazards, safeguards and relevant legislation.

- 65% Practical

Maximum Number of Candidates
Due to the large element of practical work involved in this course, the maximum number of delegates is strictly 8.
Venue
The course can be carried out on site providing that all necessary equipment and facilities are available.
Equipment Required (when carrying out training on site)
- Chainsaw which must be in good working order with all safety devices and documentation.
- Operating instructions for chainsaw
- Full Personal Protective Equipment
- A room with electricity and enough tables and chairs to seat all candidates comfortably
- An outdoor area for practical demonstration
- Various pieces of timber for practical demonstration
CITB Grant Aid
There is CITB Grant of £35.00 per person available for this course.
