All operatives who require an understanding of how to safely mount abrasive wheels and discs on portable machines.

Course Aims and Objectives

To provide candidates with the training to safely mount abrasive wheels and discs on portable machines.

Content

  • Relevant aspects of the legislation
  • Different types and classes of wheels and discs and their functions
  • Approved methods of inspecting, servicing and storing equipment

Training Method

Classroom based supported by practical demonstrations

Maximum Number of Candidates

The maximum number of candidates for this course is 12.

Venue

This course can be carried out at one of our training centre in Stockton or at a venue of your choice providing all necessary facilities and equipment are available.

Equipment Required (when carrying out training on site)

  • Stihl saw or angle grinder or similar
  • Abrasive wheel which can be mounted on to Stihl saw / angle grinder
  • Classroom area with electricity supply and enough tables and chairs to seat all candidates comfortably and allow our Instructor to set up his training equipment

CITB Grant Aid

There is half-a-day CITB grant aid (£17.50 per person) available for this course.
