Aluminium Scaffold Tower

Who Should Attend?

Construction and Demolition operatives who are responsible for the erecting, dismantling and checking of Aluminium scaffold towers.

Course Aims and Objectives

To instruct and train course members in the safety awareness, hazard identification, safety examination and inspection techniques of all types of aluminium access platforms.

Content

Upon completion of the course the participants will be able to demonstrate their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Legislation and current regulations.
  • Safety awareness.
  • Methods of safety examinations and inspections of components.
  • Safety during the erection procedures.
  • Hazards arising from the use of aluminium access platforms.
  • Environmental considerations.

Training Method

30% Classroom / 70% Practical.

Maximum Number of Candidates

Due to the large practical element of this course the maximum number of candidates is strictly 8.

Venue

This course can be carried out at our training centre in Middlesbrough or at a venue of your choice providing all necessary facilities and equipment are available.

Equipment Required (when carrying out training on site)

  • Tower scaffold which must be in good condition with all relevant components, safety features(including outriggers) and manufacturer's instructions.
  • An area for practical training with firm level ground which must be safely away from the day to day site working.
  • Classroom area with electricity supply and enough tables and chairs to seat all candidates comfortably and allow our Instructor to set up his training equipment.

Due to the practical nature of this course, there is no CITB grant aid available for this course.
