Consultancy Services

Northern Safety offers a comprehensive Health & Safety Consultancy package which helps clients ensure they are working in accordance with all current and relevant legislation, and also that a safe working environment is provided and maintained.

The consultancy process is in three stages.

  1. A complete Health and Safety review is carried out on your company, which identifies any breaches in Health and Safety legislation and general shortfalls in the company's approach to Health and Safety.
  2. Once we have completed the initial review we can establish the assistance that is required, this can range from general advice in Health and Safety matters, to a complete Health and Safety system being implemented in your workplace.
  3. Where appropriate, a training package is designed to suit the company's needs and delivered either on site or at the Northern Safety Centre.

Health and Safety Consultancy

To help companies achieve consistency, proper structure and spread the cost of their investment in health and safety, Northern Safety now offers a Health and Safety Consultancy Retainer for a fixed monthly payment. The level of service is tailored to each company's requirements. For more details of this service, call our Consultancy team on 01642 754880 or email enquiries@northernsafetyltd.co.uk

Health & Safety Policy

If you employ five or more people, you must have a written Health and Safety Policy. That is a requirement of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

A Health and Safety Policy sets out how health and safety issues are managed within your organisation - and because Health & Safety regulations and best practice guidance are constantly changing, it is more important than ever for businesses to demonstrate their obligations are effectively managed.

Northern Safety will formulate a Health & Safety Policy that demonstrates your commitment to planning and managing health and safety at work, and establishes who is responsible for such things as first aid, health and safety and fire risk assessments, and investigating accidents.

Once the Health and Safety Policy has been introduced to the workplace, Northern Safety can offer assistance with its implementation so that it becomes a natural part of the business operation.

Site Audits

Health & Safety Audits are a vital tool for successful safety management. They enable organisations to maintain and improve risk management.

An audit by Northern Safety's team of experts will provide a systematic evaluation of your organisation's health and safety performance; helping to demonstrate that you are achieving your objectives and have a reliable and effective policy, organisation and systems in place.

What Northern Safety offers:

  • Site visit to observe working conditions and practices, and where appropriate interview staff;
  • Examine existing organisation, policies, procedures against external management standards such as: OHSAS 18001, BS 8800, HSG 65;
  • Discuss findings with designated persons and agree possible actions as part of the company's overall health and safety management programme
