CONFINED SPACES ENTRY TRAINING – LEVEL 3

This course is designed for all personnel involved in controlling entry and rescue procedures andthose working in Confined Spaces and emergency response/rescue teams.
Course Aims and Objectives
To provide awareness of confined space entry hazards and procedures, and with practical trainingin entry, single/multiple casualty rescue and teamwork.
Content
Trainees will acquire knowledge and skills through a combination of lecture presentations, groupdiscussions, and individual and team exercises.
Topics will incude:-
- Regulations
- Confined space hazards, entry procedures and permits
- Atmosphere testing, purging and ventilation
- Emergency actions
- Equipment & PPE
- Breathing Apparatus and Control Procedures
- Practical exercise in Resuscitation Techniques
- First Aid & Casualty Handling
- Single & Multiple Casualty Rescue with variable lighting conditions
- Stretchers, baskets & harnesses
- Tripod Retrieval Systems
- Breathing Apparatus – Full Duration, Escape and Airline Sets
- Vertical and Horizontal Practical Retrieval Techniques
Maximum Number of Candidates
The maximum number of candidates for this course is 12.Performance Assessment & Certification
Training is carried out in accordance with the HSE Confined Space Regulations 1997.Trainees will be assessed by a short theoretical paper and practical evaluation.
Certificates will be issued to all successful delegates.
