Who Should Attend?

This course is for operatives who are new to the asbestos industry and have had no formal
training, the course combines classroom based theory and hands on practical training.

Course Aims and Objectives

To provide candidates with the skills to safely remove asbestos together with knowledge of the
relevant legislation applicable.

Content

· Asbestos Types, Uses & Risks of ACM’s
· Health Hazards, Legislation & Controlled Stripping Techniques
· PPE & RPE, intro to equipment, Decontamination Procedures and Transit Procedures
· Site Clearance & Air Testing
· Waste Management, Legislation & Disposal
· Emergency Procedures & Non Asbestos Hazards
· Plant & Equipment (Use & Maintenance Demo)
· Fault Finding
· Decontamination & Transit procedures in full including showering
· Use & Maintenance of RPE (Practical)
· Enclosure & Airlock Construction, NPU Attachment, Smoke Testing & Waste Removal
· Use of controlled stripping techniques, (Injection, shadow vacuuming)
